  • Location: Doncaster and surrounding community areas
  • Job type: Full-time, Part-time, Bank and Flexible Shifts
  • Pay: Competitive hourly rate, plus mileage and travel time where applicable
  • Reports to: Care Coordinator, Field Supervisor or Service Manager

Tapera Healthcare Ltd is a CQC-registered care provider delivering person-centred support across Doncaster and surrounding communities.

We are looking for caring, reliable and professional Care Workers and Care Assistants to join our team.

Your role will focus on helping people live safely, comfortably and as independently as possible in their own homes and within the community.

What you will be doing

As a Care Worker or Care Assistant, you will:

  • Support people with washing, bathing, dressing, grooming, oral care and toileting
  • Work closely with colleagues, families and other professionals
  • Follow infection prevention and control procedures
  • Complete accurate and timely care records
  • Report safeguarding concerns, incidents and risks promptly
  • Observe changes in health, wellbeing, mobility, behaviour or support needs
  • Encourage people to make their own choices and remain independent
  • Support with shopping and agreed light household duties
  • Help people attend appointments, activities and community services
  • Provide companionship, reassurance and emotional support
  • Prompt, assist with or administer medication where authorised
  • Prepare meals and drinks and support good nutrition and hydration
  • Assist with mobility, transfers and repositioning
  • Provide continence support while protecting dignity and privacy

Who we are looking for

You should have:

  • A caring, respectful and professional approach
  • Good communication and listening skills
  • Good time-management and organisational skills
  • Flexibility to work different shift patterns where required
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • The right to work in the UK
  • The ability to maintain clear and accurate records
  • Confidence in reporting concerns or changes in someone's wellbeing
  • The ability to follow care plans, risk assessments and instructions

Previous care experience is welcomed, although we also value the right attitude and willingness to learn.

Desirable experience and qualifications

We would particularly welcome applicants with:

  • Previous domiciliary, community or social care experience
  • Access to a suitable vehicle for community-based work
  • A full UK driving licence
  • Experience supporting adults, young people or people with additional needs
  • Level 2 or Level 3 Adult Care or Health and Social Care qualification
  • A Care Certificate

Previous care experience is welcomed, although your attitude, values and willingness to learn are equally important.

Working hours

We offer a range of working arrangements, including:

  • Full-time roles
  • Part-time roles
  • Sleep-ins where required by the service
  • Weekend and bank holiday work
  • Morning and evening shifts
  • Flexible shifts
  • Bank work

Some roles involve travelling between people receiving support.

You might work independently, as part of a two-person care team or within a larger staffing arrangement depending on individual needs.

Training and support

  • You will complete Tapera Healthcare's induction programme and all required mandatory training.
  • You will only undertake duties for which you have received the appropriate training and have been assessed as competent.
  • Ongoing supervision, competency assessments and development opportunities form part of your employment.
